It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic.

Been looking to expand my power metal collection a bit beyond the classics of HammerFall, Blind Guardian, et. al. Not disappointed by these guys in the least. A sound very much inspired by German and Swedish power metal greats imo.

While I consider myself a power metal fan, I tend to be somewhat picky with what strikes my fancy. It therefore comes as no surprise that the sweeping progressive changes are what it took to finally get me on board with Judicator. The horns in The High Priestess were what initially piqued my interest, but the rest of the songs rapidly reeled me in too. I found the album to be a bit back-loaded, so make sure to give it a complete listen if this is your first time on this epic journey.
